A Legacy of Dreams

James Mercer Langston Hughes (1901–1967) was a pivotal American poet, novelist, and playwright who emerged as a primary leader of the Harlem Renaissance. Known as the "Poet Laureate of Harlem," Hughes dedicated his life to documenting the joys, struggles, and resilient spirit of the Black community.

At Langston Hughes Affordable Housing, our mission is deeply rooted in his ethos—specifically his powerful reminder to "Hold fast to dreams." We believe that a stable, high-quality home is the foundation upon which those dreams are built and sustained.

"Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly."
Building Architecture
Providing the foundation for dreams to take flight.
